Wine & Charities
There is an added component to the AFWC- we feel it is of utmost importance that businesses give back to the community which supports them. In the past three years the American Fine Wine competition, which is followed by a Gala dinner attended by business leaders, wine lovers, and philanthropists, has raised over $350,000 for local charities.

The 4th annual AFWC will benefit the University of Miami Diabetes Research Institute and the Sun Sentinel Children’s Fund.

To continue promoting the Gold Medal winning wines from the competition, and to continue helping the many charities needing support, the Gold Medal Wine Tour was introduced in 2008. The GMWT, which is separate from the competition itself, is a series of dinners which take place in the South Florida tri-county community at critically acclaimed restaurants. The dinners are specially designed to showcase the Gold Medal winners of the American Fine Wine Competition. Each GMWT dinner benefits a local charity.

The Gold Medal Wine Tour is an intimate affair which offers education on the wines, the charity and the sponsors and promises a memorable evening of great food and incredible wine. Each dinner features at least four Gold medal winning wines paired with award winning cuisine prepared by critically acclaimed chefs.  For more information about the Gold Medal Wine Tour please go to www.goldmedalwinetour.com

The charities benefiting from the AFWC and the GMWT have included these 501 c3 charities:  End Childhood Hunger, P.R.O.P.E.L (Your Future), The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, American Red Cross, Kids in Distress, Deliver the Dream, UCP of Miami-Hope Center, Tomorrow’s Rainbow, Miami Coalition for the Homeless, and YNoCure.

Both the American Fine Wine Competition and the Gold Medal Wine Tour are sponsored by Patriot Risk Management, Inc. an insurance holding company offering an array of workers' compensation insurance and insurance services solutions.  Other sponsors include JM Lexus, TD Bank, Hyatt Pier 66, Printing Sensations, Sun Sentinel, City & Shore, DINE magazine, BNY Mellon, Acqua Panna, S Pellegrino, and The Special Events Group.
